Bulletin: Toshi Otsuki in Japan UPDATE

We've just heard that all of Toshi Otsuki's family is safe.

We are so grateful for this good news, but saddened for all those who are distressed at this very trying time.

Best wishes to you all,

  6. Dearest Nancy

    How to start this letter?
I’ve been planning to write it for years… and now I just have to do it.
My English skills are limited but I hope you will forgive me, since I’m not a native speaker.

Dearest Nancy, I wonder if you had ever thought how important your Victoria magazine was in so many people lives. In mine for instance, it is a long time affair.

While living in the US for many years, I did discover Victoria and instantly became an addict. I even subscribe it for a while. Then, I came back to my country, and for a while still got my issues. Then, the subscription was over, my short money idem and after some time I was informed Victoria closed up its pages. I was in deep grief.
How come? How could this be possible? Where is Nancy, Toshi?
In this falling apart world, we need Victoria, its inspiring pages, images, stories, ideas and your beauty and soul healing stories.

And the photography… what can I say? Toshi Otsuki is the photographer of my dreams. Everything he photographs becomes instantly master piece, full of light, soft colors and magic. Beauty saved forever.
I’ve been searching for his work through the Internet but never succeed.

And now, I found both of you at once, my dearest, adorable friends. If I may, of course, with your permission call you both friends.

I have a bookshelf to keep my most precious books and my Victoria collection. They are so sacred to me that no one is allowed to touch them without my permission.

I was reading an old Victoria and came to Google to try to find your. And just find your blog an hour ago. I start reading and there was your note about Toshi and his family in Japan. I’ve got in tears. How beautiful the friendship bond between you both.

I would like to ask you a special favor, to send him my most deep thoughts and prayers for him and his family to be safe and strong to rebuild that beautiful and beloved country. Let him know that here in Brazilian highlands there is an old and loyal admirer.

I always thought that if Toshi could photograph my surroundings and things and my family, maybe my life would look like a beautiful dream, like a Victoria page.

I have so many things I would like to tell, but next time. May I write again?

My best regards and sincere admiration for ever

    Your Brazilian friend
